About this course
Brand interviews can help you get paid more, faster
A brand interview is a video call with a client where you ask them strategic questions about their business and brand to get all the information you need to write high-converting copy for their website.
Here’s what’s possible with brand interviews:
You charge double (at least!) for your web design projects by including copywriting in your packages
Your client’s website content is ready before you start designing the website (because you’re writing it instead of depending on your clients to do it)
You get paid on time because your projects start and end on time
How good does that sound?
What you’ll learn
Here’s what we’ll cover
How brand interviews fit into your overall client process
To write website content that is aligned with your client’s vision and objectives, you need all the necessary information upfront. I share exactly when, during the project, a brand interview should take place so that you can create relevant and impactful content while ensuring that your clients feel at ease sharing this large volume of information.
What to ask during a brand interview
You’ll learn exactly which questions to ask and in what order to lead a conversation that feels easy and unforced, and uncovers all the information you need.
How to prepare for and run a brand interview
I’m sharing my best interview tips for bringing out golden nuggets that your clients will surprise themselves with (and thank YOU for). You’ll also learn techniques for staying in control even when you make mistakes or things get awkward. (It happens to the best of us!)
But most importantly…
You’ll learn how to stop waiting around for your clients to provide their content so you can stick to your original project timelines and finally get paid on time.

About Danbee
Who am I to teach you about brand interviews?
Hey, I’m Danbee. I’m a web design mentor, and I help my clients build profitable and inclusive web design businesses without overworking. I started my business as a freelance web designer in 2019.
When I used to create inclusive websites for online coaches, my best seller was the $12,000 USD package that included a new website and copywriting writing for all the pages. My clients loved the way I took weeks (or months!) of work off their hands and wrote high-converting copy in a voice that felt and sounded like them.
But when I first started out as a web designer, I charged $1,500 USD per website and offered discounts in a desperate attempt to attract new clients.
When I finally did manage to “catch” a new client, I found myself postponing their project — first, by a few days, then by over a week — because they didn’t have their content ready. I ended up building their website with lorem ipsums and then writing their copy during a Zoom call on the day we hit publish. I was literally typing text into the Squarespace website builder while asking them questions about their business over a live screen share.
I hated how this project had gone way over its time budget, and I swore I would never do that kind of stressful work again for free.
But... I loved the process of interviewing my clients and writing copy for them.
I went from thinking that my clients deserved a “real” copywriter (instead of me) to realizing that I was, in fact, the perfect person to write their content. I had put in the time and effort to get to know their business and brand, and I had the skills to create conversion-focused websites.
So, I started offering copywriting as part of my website design package, and the brand interview became an integral part of my client process. This made it possible for me to double my prices right away (instead of increasing them slowly, bit by bit).
Clients failing to submit their content on time wasn’t a problem I had to deal with ever again because I was writing all their website content for them!
I completely changed my business and my growth trajectory when I started running brand interviews.
You can do this, too — and I want to show you the simplest way to do it.
“Before the workshop, I didn’t really know how to go deeper to find out what my clients REALLY needed, but now I feel much more confident.
This is going to help me put forward a more professional image when working with clients!”
— Marie Leleu

“The brand interview helped me position myself as a trusted guide and advisor for my clients. I asked my clients questions that hadn’t considered before, questions they needed answers to in order to be able to run their business successfully.
They found the whole process really helpful and were very impressed.”

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Maybe! If you work with clients, one-on-one or in groups, brand interviews will help you understand your clients and serve them on a whole new level.
You might not offer copywriting services, but the magical thing about getting to know your clients better is that it’ll improve anything you write for your own business — and that will help you increase your prices and sell more.
If you aren’t sure whether this is right for you, use the chat in the bottom right corner of this page and tell me about your situation. I’ll do my best to help you make a decision that feels good!
-
First, the obvious: only you can say whether any decision is the right one for you and your business.
When investing in a course, I ask myself: What am I going to get out of this course? The answer might be: book an additional client, save hours or days by taking a shortcut, save money by skipping the trial and error, or increase my prices.
Then, I compare that against how much money I need to invest. If the course costs me less than the likely return on that investment, then it’s a no-brainer: I’m happy to spend the money because I’m going to make that money back and then some.
Brand Interview Workshop could help you add a new service to your offerings, increase your prices, and work with clients who are willing to pay more for your time and expertise. How does that compare against the investment?
-
Absolutely. My brand interview questions are in English, but the process I’ll walk you through can be applied in any language.
